We provide simplicity and peace of mind in selling your vehicle while allowing you to financially benefit. Our consignment program allows you to earn more than you would be able to on a trade or wholesale value. You can earn more without all the work of preparing your vehicle, taking calls, scheduling test drives, arranging financing, completing paperwork, or advertising your vehicle. We handle all of it.

We do all the work, You get to keep more money in your pocket, no-risk to you, if we can’t sell it, you don’t pay us anything.

THREE.

Option 3. Trade-In/Wholesale:

We specialize in purchasing Toyota's, and since we specialize we are generally able to pay more than most dealers.

We will buy your Toyota even if you don't buy one from us. Get an instant trade-in estimate and then schedule an appointment with us to lock in a value. We will even provide you with all of your options for consignment and selling on your own as part of our in depth analysis. Why do we differentiate wholesale and trade-in? Because we don't have any issues purchasing your car outright even if you don't want to trade it in for one of our cars. Many of the large online buyers have to add transportation costs into their purchase price which drives down the amount they can pay you, which also allows us to put more money in your pocket.

WOW...

"Wow!! Just wrapped up our third deal with Blue Star Auto Group.  My latest encounter included trading in my 2008 Infinity M35.  These guys make it so simple to purchase a vehicle. They did everything!  I simply contacted the dealership, answered some simple questions from Tobias, and he did the rest!  After only a short period of time, Tobias helped me decide on the best solution to my “negative equity” issue with my current vehicle would be to purchase a brand new one Subaru.  This helped roll up my negative equity and put me into a brand-new car, with an even smaller payment every month. I cannot thank these guys enough for their hard work, dedication to their customers and their expertise. Thank you again, will definitely be coming back again and again!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Can't I sell on my own and make more?

Selling a vehicle on your own can be an expensive and time-consuming process. In most cases, buyers are willing to pay more for vehicles from dealers than private parties, and banks are willing to lend more.

There is an extensive work that goes into selling one privately - preparing it before listing, taking photos, answering calls or emails with questions about its condition, meeting with people to let them drive it, and also taking all the scam or fake calls and inquires. In either a purchase or consignment scenario, we handle all of that without it costing our clients anything because people pay more for cars sold by a dealer. They also get more in value so the exchange is worthwhile.

Because of this, in most cases our clients end up putting the same amount of money in their pocket selling on their own vs. trading or consigning to us.

How can I be confident that the offer you give me is the best I can get?

We make sure to provide the most transparent, informative experience possible. With us you get all the market data available on both retail and wholesale pricing so that you can see not only our offer but why it is accurate and fair.

If they are available we will even provide you offer's from other major car buyers for comparison.

How much money do you make on each car you sell?

Did you know that most car dealers are barely making any money at all? In contrast to the used car market 20 years ago when clients had limited access to information and market research. But today, with a limited supply of inventory due to cash for clunkers in 2009 and the 2008 recession as well as recent COVID-19 shutdowns, used cars are in high demand but low supply which drives up wholesale prices.

Many dealers just pass these costs on to the consumer secretly by charging large dealer fees, selling overpriced warranties, and hiding all sorts of fees to get clients in the door. Our method is to pay fair prices for inventory, make small fair profits so that our clients can get a great value on their vehicles.  Today the average profit margin on used vehicles is between 1 and 2%.

Who is responsible for paying off my trade in?

You are responsible for making sure your vehicle is paid off. The dealer however, may receive authority on your behalf via a Power of Attorney to send payment to the financial institution. You are responsible for making all payments until your vehicle is paid off. This includes working closely with your bank to determine the loan has been satisfied.

Do I have to make payment after I trade my car in?

The short answer is yes. You are ultimately responsible for your car payment, as it can affect your credit score. The good news is that the dealer agrees to a payoff amount at the time of the sale of your vehicle, so even if you were to make a payment, and an over-payment was recorded in your account, the bank or credit union would simply refund you the over-payment. It can take time for the dealership to create and send a check to the finance company. In addition many banks will take 10-15 days to “process” the payment they have received. So while it seems like it would be simple that once you trade your vehicle in you are no longer responsible for the payment. This is simply not the case and it is recommended that you stay in close contact with your bank and make all payments due, until they provide you with confirmation that there is no balance due and your vehicle loan has been satisfied in full. This will make sure your credit score stays intact, and you don’t run into issues in the future when applying for a car or home loan.

Can I trade in my Toyota on a new car?

We offer an extremely great value on new car purchases, in most cases beating out large dealers with bloated advertising budgets and huge facilities they have to charge you for. Our relatively small size allows us to operate on razor thin margins and pass on the savings to you. So not only can you get the most for your trade, you can get a fair value on your new car purchase with us, and even work with the same person for the whole process. No sales manager required.

How much money do I have to pay for consignment?

Our consignment program does not require any upfront payment to us to sell your car. The only thing's that we require when dropping your car off is a payment for preparing your car for sale, such as a safety inspection, and detailing of your vehicle. We pay third party outside vendors to perform these services and we do not profit from these services, in fact you gain access to our negotiated dealer only volume pricing. We get paid when the vehicle sells, if we don't sell the vehicle for some reason, you simply get the vehicle back detailed and inspected. The amount that we charge for consignment is generally offset by the amount a dealer can sell a car for versus how much a private party can sell a vehicle for, so at the end of the day, the amount in your pocket is the same, if you let us do all the work or do it yourself. I traded in my car, do I have to pay for repairs if they find something I didn’t disclose?

The way we have chosen to do business, and the way the law supports it is very specific. The law draws the change in responsibility at the time of sale. Not within 12 hours, not 3 days but at the time of sale. This is why just like you we do our due diligence when we assess a trade-in. To include test driving and inspecting it so that we are aware of what we are purchasing. So the short answer is No, you do not have to pay for repairs on a trade-in with the exception of a few systems such as emissions systems there are beyond our control and dictated by regulatory agencies. Much like when we sell a car, liability ends upon signing the paperwork. We believe our clients would feel infuriated and incredulous  if they traded in their car and a month later we called and asked for a check for a repair we found on the car. Legally they would have no obligation to make the repairs on something they no longer owned. If this was legal every dealer would be sending invoices to clients for every repair after the trade-in of a vehicle, and the clients would have no way to verify the repairs are accurate or even needed other than to take the word of the dealer that purchased their trade. This is why the law draws the line at the time of sale.

What is the market value of my car?

The term market value is used as an indicator of what a specific group of people are willing to pay for your vehicle. There are many groups, and we have broken them down into groups in other FAQ’s. In general the market value is a price range or average. While many people like to think of a value such as a book value as an absolute, such as my car is worth $10,000, this is not accurate. The reality is that number is arrived upon using averages which means that half the values were above this, and half the values were below this. When arriving upon a market value a lot of variables come into play. Some of the major components in terms of the specific vehicle are, age, miles, repair history, vehicle history, condition, and color. Some of the more subjective variables are the local market you are selling in, desirability, time of year, and application. So for example a rear wheel drive convertible sports car is going to be worth more in Southern California, than in Alaska. Time of year will also affect a value, the same sports car is going to be worth more in the middle of the summer, than when there is 2 feet of snow on the ground.
